“Financial measures to encourage Private Sector to invest in R&D”

Date & Time – 4.30-6.30 pm, 29thOctober

SLAAS Auditorium

Sri Lanka’s investment in R&D is a meagre 0.13% of GDP when the world average is about 1% and the private sector contribution to this figure is also very low. Although Government has, from time to time, introduced various measures (matching grants, tax incentives, low interest loans etc.,) to encourage the private sector to invest in R&D, these measures have had limited impact in raising Private Sector investment in R&D.

The objective of the seminar is to obtain the views of the Government and the private sector on the above subject.  The Program for the Seminar is as follows.
