The meeting commenced with the Assistant Secretary, Prof. Shalini Sri Ranganathan, reading the notice convening the meeting. This was followed by the proposal of votes of condolence and the observance of a minute’s silence in remembrance of the four eminent Fellows who had passed away during the year 2024/25.

Subsequently, the Minutes of the 45th AGM, the Annual Report for 2024, and the Financial Statements for the year 2024 were presented. All documents were reviewed and unanimously adopted by the membership.

The nomination and selection process is overseen by the council. Of the fourteen nominations received, seven were recommended by the council, and subsequently six of them were voted in by the membership through e-voting. The newly elected Fellows were formally announced and congratulated by the President. Their formal induction will take place at a special ceremony scheduled for mid-2025.

In his address, he reflected on the major achievements and challenges of the past year, expressed appreciation to the outgoing Council, and acknowledged the contributions of all participants. He concluded by encouraging continued collaboration and commitment from all Fellows in the year ahead.
